Hennessy Paradis Imperial Derived from a priceless mélange of ancient eaux-de-vie that befits its regal lineage, Hennessy Paradis Impérial draws its inspiration from a special order placed by the Russian Empress Maria Feodorovna in 1818 to celebrate the 42nd birthday of her son Tsar Alexander I on Christmas Eve.
Inspired by Paradis’ distinct definition of elegance, Paradis Impérial boasts a subtlety that also manages to be flamboyantly pronounced. A hint of sophisticated refinement is glimpsed in its shimmering, slightly amber-coloured robe but it is only in the mouth that the extreme elegance of Paradis Impérial is fully revealed.
The delicacy of its flavoursome notes gently arouses the palate, drawing subtlety from the attentive ageing of the eaux-de-vie blended to produce it. Thanks to maturation in old casks, these eaux-de-vie have retained the slight tint of oak without being overly marked by the wood. Aromas of jasmine, orange blossom and other flowery notes emerge, spiced with smoky accents that balance the freshness of the floral hints. The persistence of the finish is surprising, given the absolute delicacy of its texture. Only the most rare cognac is capable of such persistence.
The unique decanter could enshrine this exceptional tribute and called upon designer Stéphanie Balini to create it. Balini crafted a new faceted shape crowned with a crystal cabochon and adorned with an 18-carat gold-plated label that recalls the costumes of the imperial court. Adding to the distinction, each decanter is unique and individually numbered.
