28 miles west of Warsaw, the Polmos Żyrardów distillery was built in 1910. Having withstood two world wars and a fire, the building that has since become iconic became the birthplace of the world's first luxury vodka, which has the honor of bearing the label "Polska Wodka" (Polish vodka) on all its bottles.

As soon as Belvedere was created in 1993 at this distillery, the choice of the variety of the rye, the quality of the water, the methods and techniques used for fermentation, distillation and filtering, the bottle: all these areas set Belvedere apart from all the other vodkas in the world, leading to the launch of luxury vodka in 1996 in U.S.A.
