THE FIRST SUBSIDIARY OF MOËT & CHANDON IN MENDOZA, ARGENTINA
Our founder Robert-Jean de Vogüé and his oenologist Renaud Poirier took the road less travelled to Mendoza, Argentina, and collaborated with local winemakers to apply Champagne expertise to local varieties. What resulted was the first of many collaborations, which saw Chandon craft sparkling expressions from New World terroir that captivated critics and brought smiles to drinkers’ faces.

Renowned Champagne House Moët & Chandon established Domaine Chandon in 1986 to produce sparkling wine of the highest quality. The Yarra Valley’s cool climate is ideally suited to growing the trio of traditional varieties used in méthode traditionnelle sparkling winemaking.
CHANDON VINTAGE BRUT 1986 IS MADE The first Chandon Vintage Brut is released. The result is a world-class sparkling wine that pays homage to its impressive origins while imparting the unique aromas, flavours and structure of the Australian terroir.
